What to expect with your 2025 Lawn Care Program

Choosing the Right Lawn Care Program

Every lawn is unique, which is why most companies offer different programs tailored to various lawn needs. Selecting the right lawn care program depends on the current state of your lawn, your expectations, and your budget. Below is a breakdown of the services that are included in our programs, helping you choose the best fit for your lawn.

Spring Fertilizer

A spring fertilizer with higher nitrogen content is essential as your lawn emerges from dormancy. This granular application is applied in early spring to jumpstart growth, encouraging a lush, green lawn while strengthening root systems for the season ahead.

How to maximize this service:

  • Rake your lawn to remove debris and thatch so the fertilizer can reach the soil.
  • After application, wait 24-48 hours before mowing or watering.
  • This applies to all program visits moving forward.

Included in All Programs

Spring Weed Control

As temperatures rise, weeds begin to germinate. This blanket application of Fiesta Weed Control targets young, vulnerable weeds while slowing the growth of mature ones. Since Fiesta must be applied directly to weeds, this treatment is key to reducing their spread.

How to maximize this service:

  • Keep your grass at 2.5”—this ensures both the grass and soil remain healthy and receptive.
  • A freshly mowed lawn before this application improves weed control, as it allows Fiesta to penetrate weeds more effectively.

Included in All Programs

Summer Slow-Release Fertilizer & Targeted Weed Control

Grass growth slows in June/July, but nutrients are still essential. Our slow-release fertilizer is designed to break down gradually, feeding your lawn as needed for up to 90 days. During this visit, we also apply a spot treatment for weeds, which is more effective in summer when weeds are most receptive.

How to maximize this service:

  • WATER, WATER, WATER! Keep your lawn hydrated to prevent summer dormancy. When temperatures exceed 30°C, grass can go dormant—watering helps maintain root strength.

Included in All Programs

Summer Targeted Weed Control

With slow-release fertilizer still active, this visit focuses solely on targeted weed control. A spot treatment is applied throughout the property to attack weeds at their most vulnerable.

How to maximize this service:

  • Check your lawnmower blade! A sharp blade cuts cleanly, while a dull blade tears the grass, causing stress and limiting nutrient absorption—think of it like cutting hair with dull scissors.

Included in All Programs

Late Summer Fertilizer & Targeted Weed Control

As summer heat eases, this liquid fertilizer application helps your lawn recover while reinforcing its strength for fall. We also apply a blanket treatment of weed control at the same time.

How to maximize this service:

  • Keep up with regular mowing and watering.
  • If you notice problem areas, let us know so our technicians can address them during the visit.

Winterizer Fertilizer

This granular fertilizer has a higher potassium concentration to support root health during winter. While fertilizers used in warmer months focus on top growth, winterizer strengthens the roots, reducing winter kill and ensuring a stronger lawn next spring.

How to maximize this service:

  • Rake your leaves! Seriously. This helps prevent mold, disease, and suffocation of the grass.

Included in the Very Best Program

Liquid Aeration

Applied in spring or fall, this treatment uses humic and fulvic acids with beneficial microbes to create tiny air pockets beneath the surface. This improves soil aeration, allowing water, air, and nutrients to penetrate deeper for stronger root development.

How to maximize this service:

  • Water your lawn immediately after application to activate the ingredients and push them deeper into the soil.

Included in the 5-Star and Very Best Programs

Overseeding

Overseeding replenishes your lawn’s density by introducing fresh seed, counteracting winter damage and insect stress. A thicker lawn naturally resists weeds, drought, and soil compaction.

Two Options:

Spot Seeding – Targets bare patches caused by pests or damage.
Full Property Overseeding – Evenly spreads new seed across the entire lawn for long-term resilience.

How to maximize this service:

  • Water daily for two weeks (20-30 minutes).
  • Mow before application and avoid cutting for one week afterward to allow seeds to establish.

Included in the 5-Star Program (spot seeding) and Very Best Program (Full Property)

Chinch Bug Treatment

These tiny lawn pests love hot, dry conditions and suck nutrients from grass blades, causing yellow, dead patches. Our spot treatment targets active infestations to prevent further spread.

How to maximize this service:

  • Keep an eye on your lawn between June – August, especially near gardens and bushes where infestations start.
  • Watering reduces chinch bug damage and helps prevent their spread.
